AMENAGEMENT DE LA DIGUE PISTE A RETENUE AU NIVEAU DE LA RIVIERE LAPIE DANS LE NORD DU BENIN (MANAGEMENT OF THE CONTAINMENT-DYKE AT THE RIVER LAPIE IN NORTHERN BENIN

Abstract

The development of runway dams depends significantly on the hydraulic operation of the study area. As a reminder, the uncontrolled overflow of a dyke can generate breaches leading to a potential dike break. The consequences associated with this phenomenon can be much more important than those presented in this work. The road serving villages Gouandé and Tantéga is a rural track taking into account the dike retaining track on the Lapié river. The stretch of this road is constantly degraded by water in the rainy season. Also in the nearest locality, there is a scarcity of water resources in the dry season for the development of agro-pastoral activities. These recorded difficulties justify the validity of this work, which focused on the development of the retaining dam on the Lapié river to mobilize water and facilitate the flow of traffic on this section.
