One of the most crucial paradoxes or ambiguities of the United States of America remains the issue of unstable pluralism. The quest for legitimacy in early America was complicated by the presence of a kind of multi dimensional pluralism .The highly dynam1c interactions of many social and economic forces, the political phenomenon of many states but one nation balancing their sovereignties have consequently been paralleled by the phenomenon of uneasy socio-political pluralism. Through the lens of a qualitative approach utilizing content analysis method, this article intends to demonstrate how the American colonial history which had begun with a quest for unity and homogeneity, ended with a sophisticated rationale for pluralism and heterogeneity.
