STRUCTURATION ET FONCTIONNALITÉ DES PROVERBES AFRICAINS

Abstract

Le proverbe ou la parémie est, comme la chanson, un genre littéraire d’essence orale et de portée universelle. Il est souvent l’apanage des personnes âgées et de sagesse. Dans la communauté fon du continuum Gbè (Nouveau Kwa), on le retrouve souvent dans le discours comme ‘assaisonnement, saveur’. Il présente généralement de façon brève et dans une langue autochtone donnée une vérité d’expériences universelles ou un conseil de sagesse pratique. Cet article analyse les différents contextes d’utilisation des proverbes, afin d’identifier où, comment, quand et qui peuvent les employer. A partir d’énoncés proverbiaux, il sera dégagé la structure et les utilisations des proverbes fon en vue de les comparer aux proverbes d’autres communautés sociolinguistiques. L’étude s’inspire de la classification des proverbes d’Afrique noire de Huannou (2013) et des facteurs de la communication de Jakobson (1963).

The proverb or the paremy is, like the song, a literary kind of oral and universal range.It is often the prerogative of the old people and wisdom. In the community fon of the continuum Gbè (New Kwa), one often finds it in the speech like ‘seasoning, savour‘. It generally presents, in a short way and in a given indigenous language, a universal experimental truth, or a useful recommendation of wisdom. This essay analyzes the various contexts of use of the proverbs, in order to identify where, how, when and who can use them. From proverbial statements, it will be released the structure and the uses of the proverbs fon in order to compare them with proverbs from other sociolinguistic communities. The study takes as a starting point Huannou’s classification of the proverbs of Black Africa of (2013) and Jakobson’s factors of communication (1963). .
