Abstract
This paper presents a method for calculation of
eddy current losses in the conductive material such as
permanent magnet and aluminum. A quasi-3D analytical model
is developed and the results have been compared to an
experimental test. A U-cored Electromagnet Device is used to
evaluate eddy current losses generated in the conductive
material. The analytical method considers only the effect of
frequency, current for differents thickness of the conductives
materials. The novelty of this work is based on the modeling by
electrical equivalent circuit to find the boundary conditions
needed and to verify the assumptions made on the current
density by FE results, when solving the Maxwell equations.
